Play makes for
contented children

So it’s important for us to be part of the struggle to help
more children enjoy safe, playful childhoods.

We love Childhood

Our vision is happy, playful children in a safe world. Thanks to the toys we sell, we’re able to provide safer, more playful childhoods also for children who live in difficult circumstances. So we’ve been supporting the World Childhood Foundation since 2017.

“Social commitment has been part of our business for many years. We know we’re able to make a difference,” says CEO Jonas Aronsson.

The World Childhood Foundation fights to give every child the opportunity to grow into strong, untroubled and responsible people. For 75 years, we’ve seen how our toys stimulate a child’s eagerness to play and learn. Our social commitment helps us do the same thing, and much more for many more children.

“Play is incredibly important if children are to develop and feel at ease. So being able to work together with the toy manufacturer feels especially good for us,” says Paula Guillet de Montoux, General Secretary of the World Childhood Foundation.

A child's right to be a child is at the heart of the Childhood Foundation.

“Children have an incredible ability to recover in spite of the tough things they go through, as long as they have the chance to be children, and this is where play is extremely important. Play creates happy, well-adjusted children,” says Paula Guillet de Montoux.

The World Childhood Foundation works to prevent violence and sexual abuse of children. It fights to give every child the opportunity to grow into strong, untroubled and responsible people. The work focuses primarily on the children who are often forgotten – those living on the streets, in institutions or families where the parents are unable to be what the child needs most, safe untroubled adults. Children living in vulnerable circumstances are at greater risk of violence and sexual abuse.

“The most important thing is to provide strength and help to the adults who are closest to the children. Those who will be around for many years and who are important people in the child’s life,” Paula Guillet de Montoux tells us.

Because the aim is to ensure that no child need be exposed to any kind of abuse, the Childhood Foundation project focuses on precisely such children.

Both Micki Leksaker and the Childhood Foundation are driven by optimism and our ability to see that it’s possible to make a difference – we have so many examples.
